RootsTech and Family Discovery Day

rootstech

“Remember” is the theme of RootsTech 2024, a three-day global online and in-person family celebration conference happening February 29 through March 2 in Salt Lake City.

RootsTech, hosted each year by FamilySearch International and supported by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the largest family history event in the world. It includes an in-person event in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City to complement its online experience.

Millions of virtual and in-person attendees are expected to participate for inspiring keynote addresses, instructive classes, innovative technologies, and the ability to help them remember and celebrate their family, life, adventures and memories.

“It is a natural human behavior to remember the pivotal experiences in our life and those people who have made an impact,” said Jen Allen, director of events at FamilySearch. “RootsTech 2024 will help us remember the people and experiences but also help us consider how we want to be remembered in the future.”

Family Discovery Day

Family Discovery Day is a one-day event designed specifically for Latter-day Saints on the last day of RootsTech, March 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes a never-before-seen video of the late President M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, which was recorded prior to his passing. In the video, President Ballard recounts his marriage and his own family discovery moments. Watch in person on Saturday, March 2, at 1:30 p.m. (Mountain Standard Time), or online on RootsTech.org, FamilySearch on YouTube, Gospel Stream, Broadcasts.ChurchofJesusChrist.org and Gospel Library.

RootsTech and Family Discovery Day content will be available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin.

In addition to RootsTech.org, you can stream sessions on the Church’s YouTube inspiration channel and the Gospel Stream app in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French (download the app on Apple Mobile, Apple TV, Google Play, Google TV, Roku and Amazon Fire Devices).
