Two new African Church leaders coming from DRC and Nigeria were named at the April 2020 general conference. General Authority Seventies in the Church serve under the direction of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, they travel frequently to meet with and teach Church leaders, missionaries, and members of the Church in local congregations. They have authority to serve anywhere in the world. They are the modern equivalent of New Testament Seventies.
Thierry Kasuangi Mutombo, 44, was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. A business management graduate, he most recently worked as manager of the Church’s Family History Department in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He and his wife, Tshayi Nathalie Sinda, are the parents of six children.
Adeyinka Ayodeji Ojediran, 52, was born in Ibadan, Nigeria. He has worked as a finance and administrative manager for the Quadrant Company, Mutual Benefits Assurance PLC and, most recently, for Shell Nigeria. He and his wife Olufunmilayo Omolola Akinbebije are the parents of one child.

D. Martin Goury, 56, Lekki, Nigeria; currently serving as president of the Benin Cotonou Mission; former bishop, bishopric member, and branch president; wife: Ruth; four children.
Tonga J. Sai, 46, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire; pilote import export, Abidjan Terminal Bollore of Abidjan Sea Port; currently serving as president of the Abidjan Côte d’Ivoire Niangon Central Stake; former bishop, bishopric member, branch presidency member, and high councilor; wife: Dorothee; five children.
