Members from the seven wards in the newly created Teshie Ghana Stake flooded Nungua community on 19th August 2017. It was exciting to behold as they cleaned, with joy, in their yellow Mormon Helping Hand aprons.

The wards encompassed Teshie 1st, Teshie 2nd, Teshie 3rd, Nungua 1st, Nungua 2nd, Nungua 3rd and Adjorman.

Ward members were given specific areas to desilt gutters, clear weeds, and collect heaped garbage to dumping sites.

The stake president, Nipz-Nipah Jerry, explained that they chose the Nungua community to create an awareness of the Church, and to invite people to come unto Christ. “We saw it as a need, under the direction of the spirit, to focus this year’s Africa service project in Nungua community.  This I know would serve as a missionary tool to invite others to come unto Christ. Members would also have a renewed sense of oneness as we came together from different wards to help keep the community clean.”

Stake relief society president, Dadzie Maame Adwoa Sandra, admonished the gathered members to anxiously engage themselves in their assigned areas to reap the fullness of the Lord’s blessing. She averred that, “As stated in Mosiah 2:17, we are indeed in the service of God as we wholeheartedly serve our fellow beings. Let’s lengthen our stride and put our shoulder to the wheel to earn what the Lord has in store for us.”

In his closing remarks, the stake president thanked the members and promised them blessings of the service rendered. The service project ended successfully with 235 members in attendance.
